The challenge
The Maker (Artisanat Métaux) is a small courtyard workshop in Guéliz, Marrakech, operating since 2001. Two makers hand-forge unlacquered brass, bronze and copper pieces: pendant lights and floor lamps priced from 1,300 to 5,000 MAD, plus door hardware and bespoke commissions. Catalogue orders ship in five working days; commissions take four to six weeks; repairs of their own pieces are free. The challenge was to present a handful of high-value objects the way a gallery would, while still working as a shop, and to answer the questions buyers ask before they spend thousands of dirhams: what is it made of, how does it age, how long does it take, what if it breaks.
What we built
We built a quiet, typography-led site where the objects carry the page. Each product has its own page with material, finish, dimensions and price in MAD; a cart handles catalogue orders; and a separate commission flow, plus phone, email and WhatsApp, routes bespoke requests to the workshop, which replies within two working days. A journal publishes buying and care guides (how to choose a Moroccan brass lamp, how to care for solid brass, how to clean a pierced lamp) that answer search queries and build trust. Shipping, care and repair, returns and FAQ pages remove the remaining doubts.
