Online Table Reservation in Morocco: Website, WhatsApp or Platform?
Website, WhatsApp or a platform (TheFork, Google): how a Moroccan restaurant should take table reservations in 2026, with pros, limits and costs.
For most Moroccan restaurants in 2026 the best setup is a website with a pre-filled WhatsApp button, backed by booking through Google Maps; a platform like TheFork only makes sense for tourist-heavy restaurants willing to pay per booking, and a booking module on your own site pays off once you have a steady volume of tables. Here is how to choose.
Option 1: WhatsApp from your website
It is the channel your guests already use. A button sends a pre-filled message (restaurant, date, time, party size). Pros: zero commission, instant setup, a direct relationship. Limits: replies are manual and you have to watch your phone. The full site with a text menu, Maps and SEO starts at 6,500 MAD, see restaurant websites in Morocco.
Option 2: a platform (TheFork, Google Reserve)
A platform brings visibility and automatic booking, but takes a commission or subscription and keeps the guest relationship. It suits tourist-facing addresses in Marrakech or Casablanca that want to fill quiet slots. Check each platform's current terms before committing.
Option 3: booking on your own website
A reservation form with time slots, capacity per service and automatic confirmation by email and WhatsApp. The data and the guest relationship stay with you, with no commission. From about 9,900 to 12,000 MAD depending on the level (booking, dashboard). If you take deposits for groups or special dinners, add CMI payment: see the CMI gateway guide.
How to choose
- Under 30 covers a day, local clientele: WhatsApp plus a complete Google listing.
- Tourist clientele, quiet slots: a platform on top of your site.
- High volume, groups, events: booking on your own site with a deposit.
